Try not to fall out of your chairs – but I have actually remembered to come back. I’ve even done a bit of scrapbooking. You’ve got to love a rainy day. The washing is slowly going one load at a time through the dryer. So even though I’m stamping and scrapbooking – I’m actually doing housework at the same time. Hubby and my oldest son have popped out to see a movie, some guy type thing with guns and stuff, so, I’m home and it’s quiet so its wonderful.
Enough rambling here is the scrapbook page….

As you can see the It’s Maori Mate was still out on my scrap table so it came into good use. I’ve also used some of our On Board Timeless Type, chipboard letters daubered with black staz-on ink, and then glossed up with Crystal Effects. I’ve used my sewing machine to make the two black borders. The decorative elements include Basic Jumbo grommets, basic gray cordoroy button, star designer brad and a playground button. The page is finished off with some striped grosgrain ribbon and a few riding hood red cardstock arrows.
Then because I had some scraps left over I made another male card to finish off my set of three maori mate cards….here it is….

Gosh I love playing with our circle punches – they make cards come together so quickly and easily.
Now, that’s about it for today….remember that Sale-a-Bration is on at the moment – just spend $100 on any SU product and you can recieve one of four stamp sets for free.
till next time, happy stamping,

Ok, I know that I said earlier that I might be back, but really did anyone think that I would be???
I think I’m even surprising myself, by remembering to pop back in. But I did want to share with you a couple of cards I made the other day whilst playing with my circle scissor. The first one is a birthday card I made for my dear friend Carol, and the second was another take on the same card. Both use the Pink Flamingo DSP, but by using different parts of the same sheet of DSP I was able to make the two cards with quite different looks.

I’ve used the build-a-brads for the centre of my Pretties kit silk flower which I have daubered with so saffron ink. The card is finished off with some Chocolate Chip narrow grosgrain ribbon and the corners are rounded with the corner rounder punch. Oh and the greeting is from the On your birthday stamp set.

This second one I have rotated the orientation and highlighted the Tempting Turquoise in the paper design. I really like the radiating design of this paper. The punched centre for both flowers is from the boho blossoms punch.
Now that I have shocked you twice today, who knows maybe I will still pop back in tomorrow?
You will just have to wait and see?!?
till then, get your stamps out and START STAMPING!!!! lol
talk soon,

Hey Everyone,
Well after a long break I’m back ready for a new year…but before I get started on 2010, I should finish the wrap up from 2009.
As many of you know, I finished last year by having a holiday with my family to Bali. This trip was actually a present for my middle son Tristan as a reward for completing Grade 12. He was very happy to be finished school and even gave up Schoolies on the Gold Coast for a trip to Bali. We took the whole family and also Jareds Girlfriend Shannon came along with us. The entire trip was fantastic, but a highlight for Dave and Myself was that we were celebrating our 20th Wedding anniversary whilst we were in Bali and decided to re-new our wedding vows, with a Sunset Beachside service. Here are a couple of photos…
firstly a family shot,

Left to right – Jayden , Jared, Nicki (me), Dave, and Tristan.
And then whilst the photographer was taking some other shots my Darling Dave was down writing a message in the sand….If you can’t read it, it says Dave loves Nicki XXX – isn’t he the best hubby in the world???!!!!

It was truly one of the most romantic things we have ever done. And, having the boys with us was just fantastic. Each of them played a part in our wedding. Jared escorted me down the aisle, Tristan gave the most amazing and emotional speech and Jayden was our ring bearer, and Shannon was my bridesmaid. It was wonderful, I still get misty eyed just thinking about it…..
But then of course, it was back to reality and Christmas and New Years both celebrated with friends and family and it was fantastic to spend all of this time together. Of course I wasn’t just sitting around eating and drinking, and sleeping….I actually spent a little bit of time stamping and heaps of time planning.
I was hoping to be able to announce the location of our retreat this year, but I am just waiting to hear back about some final details, so keep an eye out. Meanwhile, tech classes are back from the 9th of Feb at the the same time as last year.
And PMS days and nights will resume shortly after this, I will update my calendar and include a full list just as soon as I have the retreat info available.
But now for some stamping, I have seen these beautiful paper flowers being created and wanted to give them a shot, so I grabbed all of my circle punches, punched out heaps of DSP cirlces, roughed up the edges with the SU distressing tool, crunched them up and then layered them into flowers. I love the shabby chic look of them. Here are a couple of samples I came up with the other day.

These two both have a kraft base card, then I have used some very vanilla for stamping onto and the Haiku DSP.

The stamp sets are – leaves from Petal Pizzazz, greeting from Curvy Verses, Thank you from Short and Sweet.
Here is a close up of the flower….

I hope this makes it a little easier to understand.
Finally, here is another flower card using the Raspberry Tart DSP….

This one also uses the Build-a- brad for the centre of the flower. I have used the Autumn flair, level 2 hostess set for the leaves behind my flower and the Happy Everything set for my greeting. Jayden is taking this one to school for his new teacher on Wednesday as he is not only starting a new grade but also at a new school, so he wanted to say hello to his teacher with a card, aahhh….
Ok, so that should be enough for one post, I’ll be back soon with some more cards, I made 10 new cards yesterday so I’ve got plenty to share with you.
till then, happy stampin’,

The Flower Power Simply Sent Card Elements kit has tempted me for a very long time. One of my wonderful customers Kerry had succumbed to the temptation but I was holding off, not sure why, but for once I was resisting temptation. Well I’m sure Stampin’ Up! must have known this was the only product of theirs that I didn’t own, and hence, made it the WCMD special. So of course I couldn’t resist a bargain. The special only has one week left to go, so I hope I can tempt a few of you and that this special might encourage you to also purchase it. If at the end of this post I have tempted you, just give me a call or pop me an email and I will be happy to place an order for you.
These Kits come with everything to make 3 each of 3 designs, including the ribbon, brads and buttons, AND full instructions. The cards come together so quickly as all of the elements are self-adhesive. However, I have never been very good at just following pre-set designs so I thought I’d see what else I could come up with. So here goes, I hope you like them.

Now all of these are made basically with comes in the kit. All I have added is a few brads, some whisper white cardstock and some extra ribbon.
These two that follow use the kit products with the stamp set “Bird in a Branch”. I am loving these colours together.

Even after making all 10 cards, I still have 1 and 1/3 sheets of the patterned paper left! I am so excited. Normally when I buy kits like these I am scared to use them in case they run, silly really, but there you go. And that’s why I am so excited, I still have soooo much left to play with.
I hope you’ve enjoyed these, and remember to get 20% off the matching stamp set, just order before Saturday.
till then, happy stamping,

Wow – this is amazing, I think this must be the record number of posts in a row….and I am even posting when I say I will, awesome. Anyway, enough rambling here are the circle circus cards I promised. This is a stamp set that I have had for ages but haven’t played with nearly enough, so during my PMS class on Friday I had a chance to have a play with it.

The first is a male card that uses the colours Basic Gray, Whisper white, pumpkin pie and Kiwi Kiss. The greeting is from the “On your birthday” stamp set.

This is a female card, and the colours are again basic gray, tangerine tango, tempting turquoise and kiwi kiss. I love how changing the colours and adding a different embellishment changes the whole look.
Now, the following three are all female cards, using Cameo Coral, Tempting Turquoise and Summer sun. I love this colour combination together. With the first two I have used a piece of Pink Flamingo DSP. These also have some dazzling diamonds with the two way glue pen, but it doesn’t really show up in the photos.

I hope I have been able to show you the versatility of this set. I am sure I will be playing with it again, soon.
Till next time, happy stamping.
smiles,

Ok here they are – the christmas cards that we did at World Card Making Day.
First, a christmas tree card using the Punch Pals set. The colours here are Kiwi Kiss, Elegant Eggplant and Rose red. The scallop oval punch adds a nice touch.

Second, this is a bit of a favourite, using the Snow Swirled stamp set, and the joy stamp from the spotlight on Christmas. The main colour is Riding Hood Red, with some ski slope DSP, a bit of old olive, choc chip and baja breeze. I hope you like it.

Third is a card designed by Kym Byrne, I’m sure she is happy for me to share it with you. It is so striking in real life! Kym has used the tree trimmings stamp set, with the extra wide striped ribbon from the Spring Mini catalogue. Add some choc chip, a bit of old olive and a base card of Riding hood red and wallaahh, you’re done!

Finally, I have 3 tags to show you. I am on a bit of a tag rage at the moment so you can be sure you will be seeing more soon.

I am hoping these line up neatly. Anyway from left to right…the first tag uses Spotlight on Christmas, in old olive and riding hood red with a scalloped bottom edge of whisper white. The middle tag the Punch Pal set and our wonderful markers, in real red, old olive and Not quite navy. The tag on the right uses is made from Pacfic point cardstock with a kiwi kiss highlight, and uses the Winter post stamp set .
I hope these have given you some inspiration for your Christmas cards & tags.
I’ll be back tomorrow, with a card that I have done two ways….
till then, happy stamping.

Hey There,
I promised a couple of posts ago, that I would post some photos of the World Card Making Day event at my home earlier this month. It was such a great day, that we are already planning another. I’m sure once you see the photos and the cards that we did you will be as keen as we are for another day.

Now if the cardmaking isn’t enough to tempt you, check out the homemade cupcakes made by Nicki and Kym and Kym’s famous danishes. These were both super yummy.

Yet again, my wonderful mum and hubby did the rest of the catering. These two make the best sandwiches in the world.

Yep, we did make some cards as well…..
This is one of the male cards, using the Teachers Pet stamp set, with the Definitions alphabet. The colours are old olive, choc chip and the Windsor Knot DSP’s.

Wow, I know it is such a surprise to see one of my favourite sets was used, Just Beachy is soooo cool, I just love it. It works wonderfully here with the Urban Garden DSP, and Not Quite Navy. The greeting is from the It’s your Birthday stamp set.
Have you had enough yet??, theres some more to come tomorrow, so make sure you come back and check out some Christmas cards and tags.
till then,
Happy stamping,

At my regular Saturday PMS night (NO – not THAT pms – this PMS- pizza, music & stamp ), Lisa said that she wasn’t too sure about the “Just for you” stamp in the Oval All stamp set from the mini (page 7) – so of course to me this is equal to saying “make me love it Nicki”. We all know I love it when I am set a challenge….so here are the two cards I made to try to get her to like it. The first one, she kinda liked it, but with the second one I had a bit more success and she liked that one.
So make sure you comment and let me know what you think!

This first one uses Basic Grey, Kiwi Kiss and Pacific Point. I must add this colour combo is rapidly becoming a favourite of mine, lol. Which means you all might get sick of seeing it…sorry in advance!

OK so to jazz this one up a bit, I added the background stars from the Just Jawing stamp set and the main stars are from the Wanted stamp set. The colours are Pumpkin Pie, Night of Navy and Basic Grey. The Pumpkin pie rick rack is from the Pigtails Ribbon Originals. I love this look!
Once again, I hope you like these and I’ll be back soon. Till then take care and happy stamping.
big smiles,

Hey Everyone,
I have been stamping again, yee hah! It is so much fun to be stamping for stamping’s sake and not just because I need a sample for an event.
A couple of months ago I played with this design for my son Jaydens birthday party lolly bags, and I knew that I wanted to make some cards with it but just haven’t found the time, until now!
Here they are. Both cards use the Just Riding Set, the star from Wanted, and the dots from “Bird on a Branch”.
The colours are Basic Gray, Kiwi Kiss, Pacific Point, Baja Breeze and Old olive.

I hope you like them.
I have some more to share with you, so I should be back soon. And don’t forget to book in if you are planning on joining us for World Cardmaking Day as we are almost full, and I would hate for you to miss out.
see ya!
