Bloomin’ Beautiful

Sunday Mar 8, 2009

I absolutely love the Eastern Blooms stamp set. I am really hoping that it will make it into the new catalogue, but in case it doesn’t I have been giving it a bit of a workout. I have been wanting to use this colour combination with this stamp set ever since a saw a doona cover in Pillow talk before Christmas, and have kept a scrap of paper floating around my craft room ever since. The colours are Chocolate Chip, Tempting Turqouise and Creamy Caramel.

The backing strips are the strips of cardstock that I have inked around the edges and then crumpled up and flattened out.

Now just a reminder that this stamp set and the all the others in the summer mini catalogue are only available until the end of March. And also the retired products are running out very quickly.

Here is an update of what has run out and what is running low… contact me asap if you would like to order anything on the retired list, or the summer mini or anything at all. I am happy to help you however I can.

Time to Retire…

Monday Mar 2, 2009

Not me….But it’s that time of year when Stampin’ Up! announce their retiring stamp sets. And unlike previous years some of them are even being discounted! You can see the entire list here. As always it is sooo sad to be seeing some of our favourite sets going, you will need to be quick if you don’t want to miss out. Some of the products have allready run out….so drop me an email or give me a phone call and I will place your order immediately.

To help you out with some shopping inspiration, I have included a few new samples made with the “Be Happy” stamp set. The best thing about this set is it is one of a bunch of sets that Stampin’ Up! are donating 50% of the retail price to the Victorian Bush Fire appeal, run by the Red Cross.

Now to remind you when you are looking at the list - if it has one asterix * the stamp set is 25% off, and if it has two asterix’s **, it is 50% off, and if it has three asterix’s *** Stampin’ Up! will donate 50% of the retail price to the Bush Fire Appeal.

The colours used in these samples are - Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive and Elegant Eggplant. If you would like an instruction sheet for these cards, just order the Be Happy set and I will include it.

And remember my Technique Classes start tomorrow. There is still some places available in the daytime class, so give me a buzz and I will book you in.

till next time,

happy Stamping…

Valentines Day…

Monday Feb 16, 2009

I know alot of people here in Australia don’t really celebrate Valentines Day to a great extent, and especially not once they are married. But, my husband and I have celebrated every single Valentines Day that we have been together, and this year was no different. My darling Dave booked us a wonderful romantic dinner at the famous Moo Moo’s Grill Restaurant at the Gold Coast, of course I knew I could never match that, so I thought I would stick with my talents and create a handmade gift and card for him.

I made the 12 X 12 page of a favourite couple-photo of ours, and then framed it in a wooden frame for him to hang in his office.

I have used the Wintergreen paper, which is traditionally a Christmas themed paper, but worked really well for our photo. I have used some Always Artichoke ink and my aquapainter to dye one of the flowers from the pretty kit, and finished it off with a rub-on from the Urban West rub-ons.

I then made the following card to give him as well. Both the scrap page and the card are a very simple design, but I am happy with the result of both.

I have used the A Happy Heart stamp set from the current summer mini to stamp the hearts in Always artichoke and Sage shadow, and the greeting is also from this set. This flower is coloured in the same way using Sage Shadow.

I hope you like them also,

till next time,

Happy Stamping,

Happy 2009!

Thursday Jan 29, 2009

I am back from a wonderful break. I didn’t go too far away but I did have a really relaxing time with my boys.

To get the new year started with a bit of a bang I am offering a 20% discount on all orders placed before midnight Friday January 30th. And remember that Sale-a-Bration is currently running, so if your order reaches $100 you will recieve a free Sale-a-bration stamp set. Just click on the picture of the SAB catalogue over on the right to choose which one you would like.

And what did I do with all of this relaxing time? Not alot. I did hardly any stamping, but I have done a lot of planning. I have sent out my newsletter today with news of all of my classes that I have coming up.

My PMS days and nights are resuming in February. From Friday 20th and Saturday 21st. Day time classes are from 9:30am - 2:30 pm, and Saturdays are 6:30pm - 11:30pm. Give me a buzz or pop me an email if you would like to book in.

Scrapbooking is something I have had a long time passion for and I am finally organised to share with you a wonderful scrapbooking class. I am starting a Book of Me(you) class from Tuesday February 11th. Each fortnight we will complete a two page layout and over 10 classes will complete a 6X6 album all about you! Just email me for a class description and registration sheet. You will have to hurry for this one as I need to order your supplies. I will be holding this class twice each time both on Tuesday day time and night time.

I am also starting technique classes. Each month I will teach you 3 new techniques and you get to make 3 cards each one using the techniques you learnt that day. Cost of this is $28 for the first class (which includes a SU journal to record your techniques in) and $15 for each class after that.

This should make a great start for the new year and I hope there is a class here that will suit you.

till next time,

happy stamping

Rub-on some versatility!

Thursday Nov 20, 2008

I love our Rub-ons, I love that they come in heaps of different styles but I especially love that they come in both black & white in a pack.

I made this cute little love notes gift card folder, as a gift for a friend of mine. I love that by using the rub ons as the greeting I could use the black rub ons on the cards and the white rub ons on the cover. How cool is it that you can create the same look with both black and white words right where you want them.

For this little note set, I have used the level 1 hostess set, Oh, so lovely and a combination of Purely Pomegranate and Whisper white.

Now, once I had made this I was itching to do some more rubbing, with my rub ons. So I looked around my room and had a look at what else I had to play with…..when i came across my Summer mini catalogue pre-order. There is a product coming called carousal notes and I have wanted to have a play with these. So therefore my mind was made up, I could combing the rub ons and the carousal notes to create a design. Once I created my design I then stepped it up just a little more by using the same layout and then creating two cards in totally different themes. I love doing this to myself to show the versatility of layouts and how you can have such different looks with the same design.

This one uses the new stamp set called Live your dreams, with a groovy guava and very vanilla combination, with a touch of wild wasabi.

This is more a little boy/ baby boy card. I love the combination of colours. I’ve used wild wasabi, pumpkin pie and brilliant blue. These colours are in the East coast prep designer series paper. And I have used the cute giraffe from wild about you.

I hope I have inspired you to have a go at our rub-ons, and this month is definately the time to get some with 20% off the price of all of our rub-on designs with any $20 purchase.

Till next time, happy stamping.

November Specials

Thursday Nov 13, 2008

There are two great specials available from the 10th November until the 30th November. The first is the individual Stampin’ Write Markers. Alot of you my customers as well as alot of demonstrators have been asking Stampin’ Up! to release the Stampin’ Write markers individually, and they have listened and responded to our request! So for the next 17 days you can purchase the Markers individually for $4.95 each. All of our 4 main colour families plus our Neutrals are available individually.

Just pop me an email or give me a call to order yours before the end of the month. To choose your colours just look at pages 129-131 in your catalogue. Don’t worry about the codes, I will have those here for you.

The second special for this month is a special on our wonderful Rub-ons. Just spend $20 on any Stampin’ Up! product and you are then eligible to purchase as many packets of rub-ons for 20% off or $15.96/packet. The great thing about our Rub-ons is that you actually get two sheets in each packet. One in black and one in white!

Again just give me a buzz or drop me an email and I will happily order these for you. Keep an eye out for my next post with more samples using the Markers and our Rub-ons. This special also includes the Rub-ons in the Spring Mini Catalogue. Remember our Spring Mini also finishes at the end of this month.

Ok, back soon

Awesome Colour Combo

Wednesday Nov 12, 2008

I know I was going to show you some more things made with the love notes but you will just have to wait another day.

I am so excited to bring you this colour combination. A couple of weeks ago, I recieved an order from Stampin’ Up!, and as I was removing the cardstock from the box, four colours came out together that totally inspired me.

This is those colours….Elegant Eggplant, Rose Red (or you could use Ruby Red), Pumpkin Pie and Always Artichoke. I love the jewel like look that these colours inspire. I have been waiting to have some time to play with this colour combo. I had a spare couple of hours this morning and I wanted to make something using the markers and rub-ons for this months special. Therefore I have combined all three and come up with the following pieces for you. I have used the markers directly to the “It’s Beautiful” wheel. This is something I have never done before as I wasn’t confident that it could be done. But now I know it can. I just coloured the wheel with the four coloured markers, huffed on it and rolled it onto whisper white cardstock. The only other stamp set I have used is the “A Beautiful Thing” stamp set. Both the wheel and stamp set are only available until the end of this month, November 30th.

Here is the full set of items I have made.

The first item I have here is a 6X6 scrapbook page. I have used my wheeled strip as my patterned paper strip through the centre of my page. I have added the rub-ons from the “Eastern Elegance” set, directly to my photo. My journaling is then put onto two word window punched pieces and added a few Rose Red brads to finish off.

This was the first item I made a card using the wheeled image. I have also wheeled an extra pumpkin pie flower, cut it out and mounted it with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Again, I have used the “Eastern Elegance” rub-ons for the greeting. The Always Artichoke card base has been stamped in Always Artichoke ink.

This card uses the Rose Red as my card base, stamped in Rose red ink. The greeting is another rub-on from the same set. I love that all Stampin’ Up! rub-ons come in both black and white. The white is fantastic to use on any of the darker colour cardstocks.

I had a few scraps left over, so thought that a couple of gift cards were the way to finish my stamping session. I love using my scraps for gift cards. It’s always great to have a couple of gift cards on hand, for those times when you need a quick card.

All of these cards and the scrap page have a healthy dose of Dazzling Diamonds Glitter attached with the 2-way glue pen.

I hope you like this colour combination, I have no doubt it is one that I will be using again. Remember the stamp set and wheel are only available until the end of November. The rub-ons are available at a discount of 20% with any $20 purchase, and finally, the markers are available individually until the end of the month for $4.95 each.

WOW, there is a lot going on at the moment!

Ok, I will be back with those items using the love notes, so stay posted.

till then, happy stamping.

Christmas Gifts

Tuesday Nov 11, 2008

One of the hardest gifts to give is to someone you have never met. Recently my son went and stayed with one of his mates at the mates grandmothers house. I wanted to send a hand made gift, but as they were travelling by car I knew it needed to be able to be squashed into his bag and still look good at the end of a long drive. So i made her a set of 10 Christmas cards and packaged them in one of Stampin’ Up!’s large cello bags and added a topper. These bags are great and make any gift look great.

This first card uses the Season of Joy stamp set with Real Red and old olive colours.  And the second card uses the Very Merry stamp set in the same colours.

I was assured by my son that the gift arrived safe and un-crinkled and Grandma was very happy with her handmade Christmas Cards.

The second gift I have to show you is a cute little pizza box filled with 5 love note gift cards. This would make a great little gift for a teacher or any person in your life that you would love to give a little gift to.

I have used the same colour scheme here and again used the Dashing Designer Series Paper, with the Merry Christmas greeting stamp from the Party Punch hostess set.

Finally I have another Christmas card to show you. This one uses the Crab & Company set. I can’t believe this set was in the catalogue all year and I didn’t get it until recently. It has quickly become a firm favourite.

For this card I have stamped my little clam pal in Black staz on onto watercolour paper, and coloured him in creamy caramel using my blender pen. Then outlined him with going grey and my blender pen. For his hat I stamped it on a seperate piece of watercolour paper, then I coloured it with real red, cut it out and highlighted the white sections with dazzling diamonds and the two way glue pen. Finally I attached the hat using stampin dimensionals. The second photo shows the dimension of the hat. I love how just by popping up the hat on dimensionals it gives the whole card depth.

So hopefully there is something there that you like and can use as a bit of inspiration. I’ll be back later in the week with another couple of items using some love notes.

Thanks for looking and happy stamping,

Here I am and Here I was!

Monday Nov 10, 2008

I wasn’t just missing in action, I was preparing to pop down to Melbourne for the day on Saturday to attend some Field Training with Stampin’ Up!

It was fantastic to head down there for the day with one of the members of my team, Kym Byrne. We had to be up at 2:45am to catch our flight in the morning and we knew we were in for a big day as our evening flight was scheduled to leave Melbourne at 10:15PM to arrive in Brissy at about  11:15pm. Once we arrived we were able to catch up with two more members of my team Sharyn & Jill Temby. They live in Melbourne so I only get to see Sharyn about once a year so far. Here is a photo of them working on their stamping projects. I must say it was just wonderful to spend the day with these girls. I wish I could catch up with Sharyn more often, but distance is a hassle. L-R Kym, Sharyn and Jill

I also was able to spend a bit of quality chatting time with the lovely Claire Daly. Claire is another SU demo, from Victoria, she is immensely talented and a very wonderful lady. Spending time with Claire was amazing, we got to chat about all things SU including business stuff and stamping stuff, and of course Scrapbooking stuff. It was fantastic! A big thankyou to Claire for sharing her time and talents with me. Here is a photo of the two of us.

Ok, now as well as just being there to chat, we were presented with some amazing demos presenting both stamping techniques and tips and also sharing some awesome business tips. All four local girls did a wonderful job and should be very proud of themselves. They were a real inspiration.

Finally, we were able to participate in a Demonstrator Swap. This is where we all make a bundle of the one card design and then swap it with other demonstrators to share ideas. Here is my swap card.

It is made using the Ocean Commotion stamp set. This set will be available from December 1st in our new Summer Mini Catalgoue. I was fortunate enough to recieve this set when I was on the Stampin’ Up! Incentive trip. one of the many  benefits of attending this trip is that we get an amazing array of gifts including a stamp set that hasn’t been released in Australia, so that we are the first to recieIve it. The extra bonus with this set, was that we were actually the first in the WORLD to recieve this set. The colours used are Very Vanill, Close to Cocoa and Soft Sky. I have also used some of the Notebook Designer Series Paper and some Soft Sky double stitched ribbon. The greeting is from the Occasional Greetings set. The card is finished with some sponging and some Dazzling Diamonds glitter on the seahorses’ fin. I hope you like it.

Ok, must run and try to catch up on some sleep, will be back soon with some more photos for you.

Till then, happy stamping!
